Places to visit in Binstead - ISLE OF WIGHT

BINSTEAD

Binstead is a small village in the north eastern part of the Isle of Wight, and is located nearby to the larger towns of Ryde and Newport. Situated on the coast, Binstead has a lovely public sandy beach that never gets too busy compared with the larger seaside towns, making it a wonderful place to visit if you want to get away from the crowds. With a local shop and one pub, the amenities in Binstead are small but it is very close to the bigger attractions at Ryde and Newport, meaning you are never too far away from some of the main goings on of the island. There is also a post office and all the amenities one needs in order to obtain provisions for a self-catering cottage break.

Renting a cottage in Binstead is a good idea if you want to be close to bigger towns without actually being in them, and you will get a lovely country and village community feel during your stay. With wonderful country walks, smaller, emptier beaches and enchanting woodlands, Binstead is a wonderful hidden gem on the Isle of Wight.

The town of Ryde is only 1.6 miles from Binstead, making it easily accessible by car, bus, bicycle or even foot. There is so much going on in Ryde that you are spoilt for choice with activities, but one thing to check out is the Waltzing Waters, a fantastic 40 minute water show on the hour, ever hour. The show is spectacular and there is also a lovely coffee lounge to sit in and a gift shop.

Also in Ryde is the wonderful Appley Park, great for if you are holidaying with the children. Appley Park features an adventure playground with a pirate ship and slides, and is close to the sandy beach. There is also a water play area and a 9-hole Pitch and Putt course which the adults can join in on, or you can just sit back and relax, gazing at the views across to the mainland, as you and your children experience a wonderful day out.
