cottages to rent for holidays Isle of WightThe gorgeous seaside resort of Sandown is only four miles from Winford and should definitely be visited if you plan to come to the Isle of Wight. There is a lot to do here, from lazing around on the sandy beach to sampling some brilliant food in one of the many restaurants and cafes that can be found in the town. One unique and exciting thing to do in Sandown, however, is taking a trip to Dinosaur Isle. This brilliant dinosaur museum is the first of its kind in the UK, and makes a fascinating visit for those with an interest in these ancient giants, and any children who you are travelling with will simply adore the life-sized models of the dinosaurs, as well as the interactive displays and guided fossil hunts that the centre offers its visitors.

Another very different attraction to visit in Sandown is Glory Art Glass – a family-run glass blowing studio that produces some stunning pieces of hand-sculpted art glass. This glass has been inspired by the backdrops of the Isle of Wight and visitors to the studio can get to see some incredible glass blowing demos which are given for free! The gallery at the studio has excellent displays of pieces of the art glass and can be purchased alongside other glass gifts at the Glory Art Glass shop.
